SC Marine drowns after graduating from boot camp

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Beaufort County officials say a 19-year-old Marine drowned just a few hours after he graduated from boot camp.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reported (bit.ly/RlE93E) that the Marine drowned Friday off Hunting Island State Park.
Officials say the Marine disappeared while swimming about 40 yards from the beach, south of the Hunting Island Lighthouse. A relative called 911 after losing sight of him.
The body was recovered Friday evening.
Officials at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island didn't immediately release the man's name.
