CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Two men have been charged in the deaths of two women whose bodies were found in a national forest in South Carolina.
Berkeley County deputies said Saturday that 23-year-old Caleb Brad Matlock of Summerville and 23-year-old Arthur Ray Chavis of Cordesville have been charged with murder.
The body of 18-year-old Dana Woods was found August 28 near her burned-out car in the Francis Marion National Forest. The body of her friend, 22-year-old June Guerry, was found several days later about 10 miles away.
Authorities say both women had been shot. They were last seen Aug. 26 after going out for fast food.
Authorities have not discussed possible motives for the shootings. Both men were in jail Sunday, and it wasn't clear if they had attorneys.
