Update: Kozmo has been found. Owner Ania Driscoll writes that she was in an empty apartment one stairwell over from her property. Driscoll is working on figuring out how Kozmo ended up over there. She thanks everyone for their help.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- A beloved dog has gone missing and a local family is asking for helping finding her.

Kozmo is no ordinary canine. The 3-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback opens doors, drawers and pretty much anything else she can find.

She also keeps her owner, Marine Capt. Ania Driscoll, company while her husband David, also a Marine captain, is deployed in Afghanistan.

"Being here by myself due to our military obligations make it so much more difficult without Kozmo," Driscoll recently told InsideNova.com.

The couple relocated to Stafford County, Va. from North Carolina last month. They don't have any kids and their dog is everything to them.

Kozmo went missing July 31 after Driscoll stepped out with a friend to go grocery shopping. When she returned two hours later, the front door was not properly closed.

Since then, Driscoll has started a Facebook page, Bring Kozmo Home, for the missing dog. She is shy around strangers, but anyone with information should text KOZMO to 55469, email findkozmo@gmail.com or call 540-318-8465.
