MANASSAS, Va. (AP) -- Police in Manassas are investigating the origin and makeup of a possible explosive device that was found at a business in the city.
Manassas officials say state police detonated the device and found evidence of black powder residue.
Authorities were informed about the possible bomb at 3 p.m. Monday. Employees of the unnamed business were evacuated, and nearby streets were closed. No one was injured.
City police say they are working with the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
