Police: Gun stolen from Alexandria police officer’s car

WASHINGTON — An Alexandria police officer’s department-issued gun was stolen from his personal car overnight Tuesday and police are looking for information from the public.

The gun was taken from the locked trunk of the officer’s car, which was parked overnight outside his home in Prince William County.

The department-issued M-4 semi-automatic rifle was stolen along with a radar gun and an MBD laptop computer. The computer and radar gun were recovered a short time later.

Anyone with information about the missing rifle is asked to call the Prince William County Crime Solver’s Tip Line at 1-866-411-TIPS.
