WASHINGTON – Prince William County police have arrested two men in relation to the murder of a man in Woodbridge, but are seeking answers about another person’s death in Dumfries.

Police say a woman was shot to death by someone who knocked on the door of her Dumfries home shortly before 3:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say a man who lives in the home reported that the woman answered a knock on the door and had an argument with the visitor.

The person fired several shots and fled, and the woman died at the scene.

Police say the shooting does not appear to be random. The victim’s name will be released after her relatives are notified.

Police also announced two arrests in the stabbing and beating death of 47-year-old Barbaro Alonso-Iraola, whose body was found Wednesday on Cardin Place in Woodbridge.

Juan Carlos Flores, 25, of no fixed address, faces charges including first-degree murder in the case. Jose Miguel Diaz, 28, of Woodbridge, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Police say Flores and another man dumped the body from a van late Tuesday night and drove away. Police are still looking for the second man. Police say Diaz aided Flores and was the owner of the van, but was not present when the body was dumped. Flores is accused of using the van without Diaz’s consent.

Police have not revealed a motive in the slaying. Flores and Diaz are being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 20.

Anyone with information about either case can call (866) 411-TIPS.
