WASHINGTON -- A Prince William County couple accused of barricading their three children in a bedroom with drywall have pleaded guilty to three counts of felony child abuse and neglect.
Christina Moore, 27, and John Michael Robey, 34, admitted to barricading their daughters -- ages 4, 2 and 1 -- in a room by nailing a 5-foot piece of drywall to a bedroom doorway earlier this year.
The oldest girl used mattresses to climb over the drywall and run to a neighbor.
At the time, the couple said they did it because they needed a break. Police found needles and other drug paraphernalia in their residence.
The couple will be sentenced in January. Prosecutors want them to finish their drug treatment program in jail and then do three years of probation.
