BRISTOW, Va. (AP) - A Prince William County mother whose son died after being left in the family's minivan for seven hours has been indicted.

County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert says Karen Murphy of Bristow was indicted Tuesday on charges of felony murder and child neglect. Ebert says Murphy is turning herself in Wednesday.

She has been released on her own recognizance. A trial will be set July 15.

Murphy allegedly left her 2-year-old son Ryan in his car seat when she went to work on June 17. Authorities say she drove home after work. County police say Murphy later found Ryan in the minivan parked in the driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ebert says his decision to present the case to the grand jury was partly based on allegations that Murphy had left Ryan in the van for a short time in January.
