Dulles Town Center jewelry store hit by smash-and-grab robbery

WASHINGTON — A group of men smashed a jewelry case with sledgehammers and took a large number of high-end wristwatches from a jewelry store in the Dulles Town Center on Tuesday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says that at about 2:40 p.m. four men entered the Fink’s Jewelry Store with the sledgehammers and made off with an undisclosed number of watches. They took off in a Jeep Cherokee that had been reported stolen in Fairfax County and abandoned it near the Dulles Eastern Plaza. The sheriffs say they then left in another vehicle.

The sheriffs searched for them with a helicopter, and are working with federal and other law enforcement agencies because, they say, the four suspects are likely connected with other area robberies.

If you know anything about the case or where to find the suspects, call the sheriffs at 703-777-0475. If you want to remain anonymous, call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. There’s a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
