Man sought for assault in Loudoun County

WASHINGTON — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault that occurred Monday morning along the W&OD Trail in Sterling.

A woman was assaulted on the trail near Oak Grove Road, according to the sheriff’s department.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, police say a jogger was knocked to the ground from behind and assaulted.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, roughly 5 foot, 6 inches tall with short black hair. Police say he has a muscular build and weighs about 200 pounds.

The man wore dark-colored clothing and fled the scene by foot on the trail toward Fairfax, according to the sheriff’s department.
