HILLSBORO, Va. (AP) - Authorities in Loudoun County say a man who fled from police in a stolen car later crossed into West Virginia and caused a three-car crash.
Police identified the suspect Wednesday as 40-year-old Michael Brown.
A Loudoun County sheriff's deputy tried to make a traffic stop just before 3 a.m. Wednesday near the town of Hillsboro, but authorities say Brown's vehicle began to accelerate. The deputy alerted Jefferson County police but stopped the pursuit at the West Virginia border.
The deputy lost sight of the vehicle but continued into Jefferson County and discovered the suspect was involved in a three-car crash.
Police say Brown had serious injuries but was expected to survive. He was wanted in Arlington County for a property crime.
