WASHINGTON - A safety inspection targeting commercial trucks on local highways Tuesday netted nearly 70 violations, police say.
Fairfax County Police performed a safety inspection on Lee Highway between Route 28 and the Loudoun County line. They were looking for violations including oversized loads and improper registration.
Police say 18 trucks were stopped and there were 68 violations total.
Five of the trucks were taken off the road because they were unsafe.
