Police make arrest in Pembrook Village shooting

WASHINGTON – Police say they’ve arrested an 18-year-old in the fatal shooting of another teen on Pembrook Village Drive.

Fairfax County police say they’ve charged Leon M. Johnson, of the 4400 block of Pembrook Village Drive, with involuntary manslaughter. He is accused of shooting 16-year-old Kevin Johnson, who was 16, Monday evening.

A second boy was also injured.

Police say Kevin Johnson, of Groveton Garden Road, was not related to his shooter.

Police said previously that several people who knew each other were at a home a block from Leon Johnson’s home that night when he fired a gun, hitting the other two boys.

Police recovered the gun at the scene.
