Police ID 17-year-old killed in Reston shooting

WASHINGTON – A 17-year-old Reston boy has died of life-threatening injuries after being shot on Friday night.

Fairfax County Police say Juan Carlos Godoy, died Sunday morning at a local hospital. He lived on Cameron Street Drive in Reston.

The Fairfax County police say the shooting happened around 10 p.m. Friday at a house in the 2200 block of Marginella Drive, Reston. Godoy was flown to an area hospital.

The police say that Javier DeJesus Martinez, 26, of 2274 Marginella Drive, who they say knows the victim, was charged with possession of firearm by an illegal alien, and that they’re still investigating to determine whether the shooting was accidental.
