Police ID pedestrian killed in Springfield crash

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police have identified the woman who was killed while attempting to cross Franconia Road Oct. 9 in Springfield.

Police say Juliana Hudson-Nichols, 35, was killed after being hit by a 2002 Ford pickup truck.

Fairfax County police say the crash took place near the on-ramp for Interstate 395/Interstate 95 just before 2 p.m.

Police say the woman appears to have been been crossing outside of a crosswalk when she was hit and killed.

They do not believe speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation by Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives.
