WASHINGTON – A giant 8-by-10 sinkhole is blocking traffic in Reston, Va., at Lawyers Road and Steeplechase Drive.

Westbound traffic is being diverted on to northbound Steeplechase Drive.

Commuters on eastbound Lawyers Road can get by in one lane.

Fairfax County police are on the scene.

NBC 4 reports the sinkhole was caused by a broken water main.
