FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- A Loudoun County man with a history of mental health problems has been charged with making threats against Fairfax County's commonwealth's attorney.

Court records show Saad Lodhi (LOH'-dee) of South Riding was arrested April 3 and remains at the Fairfax County jail pending a preliminary hearing. He is charged with making terroristic threats in writing, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

WRC-TV in Washington reports (http://bit.ly/YSU6Os ) that Lodhi wrote an email to the county Board of Supervisors earlier this month stating he had applied for a concealed weapons permit and had a "special gift" for the commonwealth's attorney, according to an affidavit.

Lodhi has been diagnosed as schizophrenic, according to federal lawsuits he filed against Fairfax County Police and the hospital where he was institutionalized.
