WASHINGTON – Police say they arrested a man they say stole credit card information from unsuspecting victims by using a “skimmer” device on an ATM.

Fairfax County police arrested 39-year-old Ioan Cicio, of Falls Church, Va. on Monday and charged him with credit card fraud and money laundering.

Police say Cicio used a skimmer to steal credit card information from the Fairfax City Fire Association and was caught when surveillance footage showed him using the stolen credit card number at an ATM.

A raid on his home turned up numerous items including skimming devices, cameras and computers.

Cicio was already in jail on a DUI charge when he was arrested for credit card fraud. Police have not said how much money was taken.

The police say it was Cicio who installed skimmers at Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in November to steal people’s credit card information.
