Police arrest suspect in Falls Church library assault

UPDATE - Dec. 13: WASHINGTON - Fairfax County police say Kevin Lee Porter, 31, has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault last month at a library in Falls Church, Va.

Porter, of no fixed address, was charged Tuesday with abduction. He was being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Previous Story - Fairfax County police have released a photo of a suspect they believe assaulted a teenage girl in a library bathroom Nov. 6.

Police say the assault happened in the women's bathroom at the Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church. The 17-year-old girl told police she had been studying at the library throughout the day and felt the man had been watching and following her.

At about 9 p.m., the teen reportedly ducked into the bathroom as she was leaving the library. Police say the man followed her in, touched and pushed her, then fled when she began to scream.

Library staff responded and called police. They told police they had seen the suspect before but were not aware of any previous incidents.

The suspect is described a having a medium-brown complexion, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He had a shaved, bald head, brown eyes, a gap in his front teeth and a diagonal scar on his forehead. He was wearing a pale green, long-sleeved shirt with khaki pants.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and have canvassed neighborhoods with fliers about the incident.
