FAIRFAX, Va. - A Fairfax County man says the chair he hung from a tree with the sign "Nobama" isn't a racist threat against the president.
WJLA-TV in Washington ( http://wj.la/QHER7q) reports that Doug Burger of Centreville says he hung the chair as a reference to actor Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention last month. In the speech, Eastwood talked at length to an empty chair as if President Barack Obama were sitting there.
Burger says he doesn't understand why anybody would link his protest to a lynching threat.
