BURKE, Va. - Authorities say remains found on railroad tracks that delayed the ride home for Virginia commuters are not human.
Manassas Park Police said Thursday that the state medical examiner's office had confirmed the remains are not human.
Virginia Railway Express officials say the remains were found Wednesday evening on tracks near Burke. Four commuter trains were temporarily delayed while authorities investigated the find. Buses were brought to transport train riders.
Local reports said hundreds of commuters were impacted by the delays after the discovery near tracks at the Manassas Park station.
