SPRINGFIELD, Va. - Police say a Springfield man was abducted at gunpoint, forced to withdraw money from banks and then abandoned in the trunk of his car.
Fairfax County police say the 22-year-old man was approached by three men while leaving his home on Cumberland Avenue about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police say one of the suspects displayed a handgun and forced the victim into his Honda.
Authorities say the men drove the victim to two banks and forced him to withdraw money. Afterward, police say the victim was driven to an unknown location, put into the trunk of his car and driven a short distance. Authorities say one suspect cut the victim slightly.
Police say when the victim got out of the trunk, he was in the area of Piedmont Place in Annandale.
