Woman suspected in four robberies in Northern Virginia

WASHINGTON – Police are asking for help identifying a woman who is suspected of committing a series of armed robberies in Northern Virginia.

Fairfax County police say the woman is believed to have been involved in four robberies in Fairfax County, Prince William County and the city of Manassas Park.

The suspect in all of the robberies is described as white, in her early to mid-30s, between 5’3″ and 5’7″. In each robbery she was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans or dark-colored pants, and displayed a silver or black handgun.

She wore a black mask to cover the lower portion of her face in the most recent robbery. She’s associated with a dark-colored, small station wagon similar to a Subaru Forrester or Outback.

The first two robberies happened on Dec. 29, 2011.

The first robbery happened at a Shell Gas station at 13704 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway in the Chantilly area around 10:30 p.m. Police say a woman entered the station, displayed a small silver handgun and demanded cash. The clerk gave cash to the suspect who then fled in a dark-colored station wagon.

The second robbery happened about a half hour later at a 7-Eleven on the 8500 block of Centreville Road in Manassas Park. Police say a woman entered the store, displayed a black handgun and demanded money. She fled the scene before the clerk could comply when a customer approached the store.

The third robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day in the Manassas area. A woman entered the 7-Eleven at 10740 Coverstone Drive, displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and she fled the scene on foot.

The most recent robbery happened on Jan. 10, 2012 at an Exxon Gas station in the Falls Church area. Police say the suspect entered a gas station around 10 p.m., displayed a small black handgun and demanded money. The clerk gave her cash, and she then fled on foot toward the Idylwood Plaza Shopping Center.
