FAIRFAX STATION, Va. (AP) - A Fairfax County firefighter has died at a firehouse, but officials say there's no indication of foul play.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Capt. Willie Bailey says the firefighter, 49-year-old Horace Pendergrass, was found in the bunkroom of the Crosspointe station around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Bailey says Pendergrass' colleagues tried CPR but they were not able to resuscitate him. He says there were no external injuries on Pendergrass' body. His death remains under investigation.
Pendergrass, who is originally from Chesapeake, Va., spent more than 20 years with the county fire department.
