YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Travel through the community of Gardiner, Montana, and the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park will be temporarily re-routed for a few days starting Monday.
West Park Street between U.S. 89 and the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner will be temporarily closed for five to seven days to allow contractors to install a water line.
During the temporary closure, traffic entering and leaving the park’s North Entrance Station will be detoured along a different route.
The utility work is part of nearly $15 million worth of infrastructure improvements funded through the Federal Lands Access Program.
The project is designed to improve deficiencies to infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion, enhance parking, and provide for better pedestrian accessibility, as well as increased vehicle and pedestrian safety.
