Crime Report: Thief Comes Clean to Victim

A woman was recently arrested for breaking and entering, according to police, after she admitted to her victim that she broke into his home and stole his stuff.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

BURGLARY, 03/02/13, 4400 block of S. 31st Street. Between 3 pm on March 1 and 2 am on March 2, a subject entered a residence and stole various items. Several days later the suspect admitted to the victim that she had broken into his home and taken several of his belongings. The items that the suspect stole were found in the trunk of her vehicle. Kimberly Marie Vest, 28, of Woodbridge, VA was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. She is being held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 03/09/13, 900 block of N. Randolph Street. At 4:13 am on March 9, two subjects exited a cab without paying and once confronted by the driver, physically assaulted him by punching and kicking him repeatedly. A residence concierge witnessed the attack and attempted to aid the victim, but was punched as well. Ramnik Aulakh, 30, of Arlington, VA, and Elizabeth Arias, 29, of Bowie, MD, were arrested and charged with malicious wounding, defrauding a taxi and drunk in public. They were held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 03/09/13, 1400 block of N. Garfield Street. At 9:05 pm on March 9, an altercation inside a restaurant bar, continued into the street. A victim sustained a significant laceration to his forehead and was transported to GW hospital. DC Danh, 28, of Alexandria, VA , Donny Danh, 27, of Alexandria, VA, and Christopher Dizon, 22, of Lorton, VA, were arrested and charged with malicious wounding by mob. They were held without bond.

ROBBERY, 03/12/13, 900 block of N. Stuart Street. At 6:10 pm on March 12, four unknown subjects allegedly distracted a victim by asking her a question when she was walking from the metro. When the victim took out her headphones to listen, the subjects stole her iPhone and fled the scene by foot. The subject that took the phone is described as a 5’3” skinny black male. At the time of the incident, the subject was wearing a black and grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and tan timberland boots. The subject that distracted the victim by asking a question is described as a 5’10” black male, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a red stripe. The victim did not get a good look at the other two subjects, but stated that both were black males and one of them had shoulder-length dreadlocks. All suspects are described as being approximately 14-16 years of age.

BURGLARY, 03/11/13, 2700 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. At 10 pm on March 11, an unknown subject entered a residence through an unlocked door. The subject fled the scene when he saw a resident inside. The suspect is described as a 5’8” tall black male in his early 20’s.

BURGLARY, 03/06/13, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. Between 8 pm and 11:26 pm March 6, an unknown subject(s) allegedly entered a residence and stole several items from a purse. There is no suspect(s) description.

BREAKING AND ENTERING, 03/11/13, 2200 block of N. Harrison Street. Between 9:20 am and 12:30 pm on March 11, an unknown subject(s) allegedly entered a residence through a window and possibly stole jewelry and cash. There is no suspect description, but the subject is believed to be known by the victim.
