Military police officer killed in Iraq to be buried at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) – A military police officer killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan is being laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

Funeral services for 25-year-old Army Sgt. Brian L. Walker will be held Wednesday. Walker, of Lucerne Valley, Calif., was one of two military policemen who died in Afghanistan in May 2012 when a vehicle he was commanding hit a roadside bomb.

Three other soldiers were wounded when the vehicle hit the bomb in Khost Province, Afghanistan.

Walker joined the Army in August 2007 and was assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. He previously served in Afghanistan for a year.
