Mail collection suspended at Navy Yard, part of Bolling

WASHINGTON – Because of the shootings at the Washington Navy Yard, mail collection had to be suspended at collection boxes at the Navy Yard, Bolling Air Force Base and at part of the U.S. Coast Guard.

The postal service says it suspended collection to five boxes in the Navy Yard’s 20003 ZIP Code area, 14 at Bolling in the 20032 ZIP Code area and two wall units at the Coast Guard in the 20024 ZIP Code area.

Mail dropped off after their posted Friday or Saturday collection times won’t be picked up until access to those areas resumes.

  • 1333 Isaac Hull Ave. SE
  • Three boxes at 1222 9th St. SE

Bolling Air Force Base:

  • Four boxes at 2900 S. Capitol St.

U.S. Coast Guard

  • Two wall units in the 20024 ZIP Code area
