Lawyer for Severance seeks gag order in Leesburg

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) — The lawyer for a Loudoun County man who is wanted for questioning in the shooting deaths of three Alexandria residents is seeking a gag order in an unrelated case.

Charles Severance is in jail awaiting trial in Loudoun County on a firearms charge. But his case is attracting attention because Alexandria Police have said they want to ask him about the unsolved shooting deaths of three city residents going back to 2003. Severance has not been charged in those shootings, and police have not named him a suspect.

A hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Loudoun County General District Court on a motion from Severance’s lawyer seeking to bar lawyers in the case from talking to the media.
