UPDATE: Thursday - 2/14/2013, 4:30pm ET - The death of a 94-year-old man found dead inside his Alexandria home has been ruled a homicide.
An autopsy Thursday confirmed the death of Elmer Roehrs was a homicide. The cause of his death has not been released.
Roehrs' killing is the first homicide in the city in more than a year. No one was violently killed in Alexandria in 2012, city police say.

WASHINGTON - The victim has been identified as Elmer Roehrs. The cause and manner of death is still under investigation.
Early Thursday morning, police arrested 45-year-old Marie Maybell Johnson for a Nov. 27 burglary at Roehrs' address. She has been charged with burglary and grand larceny, but has not been charged in connection with his murder.

WASHINGTON - Police in Alexandria are investigating what they call the "suspicious death" of a 94-year-old man found Wednesday evening.
Police say a resident in the 2700 block of Holly Street came home and found the man -- who also lived there -- suffering from upper body trauma at about 6:50 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity had not been released.
Police say an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of the victim's death, and an investigation is ongoing.
