ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - Fearing a traffic nightmare, Fairfax County's top politician says the Board of Supervisors will consider a lawsuit to stop a Pentagon transfer of more than 6,000 workers to an office complex in Alexandria later this year.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova issued a statement Thursday saying the board will weigh its legal options in closed session at a meeting on Tuesday.

The uproar comes in the wake of a report issued Wednesday by the Pentagon's inspector general. The report said the Army underestimated the effect of moving so many workers from Crystal City, which has Metro access, to the Mark Center in Alexandria, which does not.

The Mark Center is just one aspect of a larger plan to move tens of thousands of workers to Fort Belvoir this year.
