WASHINGTON – It’s a fundraiser for a police officer who was hurt during the Washington Navy Yard shooting.
Officer Scott Williams, a 23-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department, was shot Sept. 16 while responding to the shooting at the Navy Yard.
Williams was one of the first to respond. He was shot in both legs, which caused his left femur bone to crack and his right femur bone to shatter.
On Saturday, Nov. 16, Kelly’s Irish Times is hosting a fundraising event to support Williams in his recovery process.
Those who would like to support Officer Williams can stop by Kelly’s Irish Times, 14 F Street NW, Washington, D.C. between 4 and 10 p.m.
There is a $20 donation, with all proceeds benefitting Officer Williams.
