Arena Stage giving away wedding for ‘Fiddler’ show

WASHINGTON (AP) — Arena Stage is searching for the perfect match this month in a contest to give away a free wedding at the Washington theater.

The contest is inspired by the upcoming production of “Fiddler on the Roof” where Trevye’s daughters try to convince him they should be able to choose their own husbands to marry.

The theater says couples in the Washington area can enter by submitting essays or videos through Aug. 31 about why they are the perfect match.

The winning couple will receive a free wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for up to 175 guests at Arena Stage. The package includes catering, decor, music, lighting, flowers and a wedding cake. The package is valued at $80,000.

The winners will be announced in September.
