WASHINGTON - Online shopping is now going after niche markets where you can get anything from bras in boxes to subscription socks.
The goal of the niche online services is to personalize the fit and the shopping experience in hopes of making you a repeat customer since you have to buy certain things on a regular basis. With these services, you never have to set foot in a store.
The Wall Street Journal has been checking out some of these shopping services, including True & Co., Le Tote, and Stitch Fix.
All the services use information collected from you to tailor your fit and personalized the shopping experience.
With True & Co. women get to try-on up to five bras for free in the privacy of their homes.
And you get your clothing fix with Stitch Fix, where you fill out a style profile online and the company will do the rest, matching your tastes and physical fit to clothing that's sent to you at home.
Then there's Le Tote which operates like Netflix. For a monthly fee, you too can rent runway clothes or other clothes that are a little out of your comfort zone. The monthly rental fee is $49.
