A new flight of food, retail options coming to Reagan National, Dulles International

WASHINGTON – Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport will soon take travelers’ taste buds on a wild ride. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced its plans to expand the restaurant and retail offerings at the two travel hubs.

The makeover will bring D.C.’s iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl to Reagan National by spring of 2014, along with American Tap Room, Legal Sea Foods and Pinkberry. New retailers for Reagan National include Brighton Collectibles, Lacoste, Spanx and Vineyard Vines.

Dulles International will welcome French restaurant Bistro Atelier, Au Bon Pain and Luv’n Berry, a frozen yogurt store. Tumi and Swarovski will join the list of retailers at Dulles.

The redevelopment will happen in five phases over the next 30 months, according to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

And while the program requires 95 percent of all of the concessions at the airports to be converted or reconstructed, it’s safe to say D.C. travelers will have fewer hesitations when it comes to eating airport food.
