New Va. Lottery game has 1st $1 million winner

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Lottery’s new Money Ball game has its first $1 million winner.

The Lottery says in a news release that a ticket purchased in Danville for the Oct. 1 drawing matched all five winning numbers and the Gold Million Dollar Money Ball was drawn. When the gold ball is drawn, the top prize increases from $100,000 to $1 million.

The winning numbers were 5-9-29-30-32. The person who bought the ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize.

The Lottery says the odds of winning the $1 million prize are 1 in more than 2.3 million.

Money Ball debuted on Sept. 14. The game replaced the Lottery’s Win for Life game.
