Survey: Half of women have ‘backup husband’

WASHINGTON — Although some women are in relationships, it doesn’t stop them from having a Plan B partner in mind in case things don’t work out, according to a survey.

The Daily Mail surveyed 1,000 women and found half have a “backup husband” — a fallback should the current relationship turn sour.

The survey found married women are more likely to have a backup than those who are just in a relationship.

In many cases, the reserve romance is an old friend, an ex-boyfriend or a colleague, according to the survey. Women said the backup man is someone she has known for about seven years, and who is “ready and waiting.”

One in five women said they thought their fallback would “drop everything” for her if she asked him.

Despite the promise, one is three women said they doubted anything would materialize with the backup.
