Metro announces Labor Day weekend track work

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says buses will replace trains on a section of the Red Line this weekend and through Labor Day.

Metro says beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and continuing through closing on Monday, buses will replace trains between Friendship Heights and Grosvenor. The Bethesda and Medical Center stations will be closed. On Labor Day on Monday the system will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight with trains running on a Sunday schedule.

Metro says on the Orange and Silver lines, trains will operate every 15 minutes through system closing on Sunday with regular weekend service on Monday.

Green line trains will operate every 16 minutes through closing on Monday. There will be regular weekend service on the blue and yellow lines.
