Alleged owner of 9 dead dogs charged in Md.

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) — An Allegany County man faces multiple animal-cruelty charges after nine dead dogs were found inside a vacant home near Cumberland.

The charges were filed Saturday against 28-year-old Christopher Preston.

Preston couldn’t be reached for comment Monday. The telephone numbers listed for his new address in LaVale is not in service.

He is charged in connection with the discovery Aug. 14 of nine dead and three live dogs at a home in the Bel Air subdivision.
