Boy, 9, has ‘bucket list’ of things he wants to see before going blind

WASHINGTON — Ben Pierce is 9 years old and he’s going blind because of scar tissue left over from health problems he had when he was born prematurely.

The doctors say there’s nothing they can do, so the Texas boy created a bucket list of things he wants to see before he loses his sight permanently.

So Pierce and his family are traveling the world to cross things off his list.

The Daily Mail reports that Pierce’s vision-related bucket list includes the Eiffel Tower, the Northern Lights, a tiger, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, NASA and a toy factory.

The family has held fundraisers to pay for some of Ben’s experiences, and about people have donated about $17,000 through an online fundraising site.

They’re keeping a blog and a Facebook page to document their experiences.
