CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Fans of the dapper Mr. Peanut and his many accessories are gathering in West Virginia for a convention.
The club's 34th annual convention runs through Saturday in downtown Charleston. It is expected to attract nearly 100 Peanut Pals -- folks who are obsessed with Planters Peanuts memorabilia.
The Charleston Daily Mail (http://bit.ly/15fPB3X ) says members are interested in all forms of Planters items, but Mr. Peanut is the primary attraction. He is the formally attired peanut in the top hat, cane, spats and monocle.
A statue of the snappily attired snack food can be found in downtown Suffolk, Va., the state's prime peanut growing area.
