BALTIMORE - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, in Maryland to support same- sex marriage, ended up discussing preparations for Hurricane Sandy.
Bloomberg, who held a news conference Friday with Gov. Martin O'Malley and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, said New York City is getting ready for a possible hurricane hit.
He said the city will halt all construction at 5 p.m. Saturday and will close parks Sunday night.
O'Malley said preparing for the hurricane is like trying to guess the D-Day Invasion.
Maryland voters will be deciding whether to allow same-sex marriage in the state on Election Day.
