Assateague Island to be closed before hurricane

BERLIN, Md. - Officials are closing Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park before Hurricane Sandy hits.
All camping will be closed by 11 a.m. Saturday. The over sand vehicle route will close by 7 p.m. Saturday.
The seashore and park will close at noon Sunday to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The closure will continue at least through Tuesday.
