Robert Wone, 32, of Oakton, Va., was found inside a home suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at Washington Hospital Center.
Police are still investigating the case and have not released any additional details about the case.
Wone was the general counsel for Radio Free Asia, which broadcasts news to Asian countries that don't have free media. Before coming to Radio Free Asia, Wone had worked at the law firm Covington & Burling.
"We are devastated," said Radio Free Asia communications director Sarah Jackson-Han, who added that Wone had only been with the corporation for about a month. "He was a terrific guy."
Police are offering a $25,000 reward for his killer's arrest and conviction.
