HOPEWELL, Va. (AP) — The head of poultry company Perdue Farms Inc. is expecting continued growth for its Virginia operations.

CEO Jim Perdue spoke Thursday to a group of business leaders at the Hopewell-Prince George Visitors Center in Hopewell. He says Virginia is an important part of the Maryland-based business.

Perdue has about 2,800 employees in Virginia. It has facilities at the Port of Richmond and in Chesapeake, Accomac, Bridgewater, Prince George and Tappahannock.
