Police identify woman struck and killed by Fairfax Connector bus

WASHINGTON — A 41-year-old Alexandria, Virginia, woman is dead after she was struck by a Fairfax Connector bus outside of the Huntington Metro Station Thursday night.

Fairfax County Police say Lorena Gimenez, 41, of Alexandria was walking on the roadway at the station when the bus struck her.

Under investigation is how she was struck around 10:45 p.m.

Spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell says there are no charges against the driver at this time.

Police say there is no indication that speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The Huntington Metro station is open and operating normally Friday morning.
