Va. Chamber to create private insurance exchange

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A private health insurance exchange is in the works for businesses across Virginia.

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce plans to partner with ChamberSolutions to establish the Virginia Benefits Market.

Chamber President and CEO Barry DuVal announced the initiative on Thursday at the Virginia Health Care Conference and Health Innovation Showcase in Richmond.

The chamber says in a news release that CieloStar will administer the exchange platform.

The group is in talks with insurance carriers to offer products through the exchange, including health, dental and vision insurance.
