Va. man sentenced for sex trafficking of minor

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- A Newport News man convicting of sex trafficking and counterfeiting charges will spend 10 years in prison.

Todd Jackson was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk.

U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente says the 25-year-old Jackson had pleaded guilty in January to sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to pass counterfeit money.

According to court documents, a 17-year-old girl told Virginia Beach police that she had worked for Jackson as a prostitute in the Hampton Roads. The teenager was with Jackson with police stopped him in July 2013.

Jackson and co-defendants Alicia McDuffie and Curtis Crumity were convicted of charges of passing thousands of dollars of counterfeit money at Target stores in the Hampton Roads area.
