CONCORD, Va. (AP) -- Three people in Campbell County are facing charges stemming from the tattooing of two children under the age of 13.

According to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, Alexander Edwards is accused of tattooing the children in December without their consent or the consent of their parents.

The News & Advance (http://bit.ly/QYvzKF) reports that the children's mother, 35-year-old Melissa Delp, and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Daniel Janney, each face two counts of malicious wounding and felony child abuse. Edwards is a family friend.

Maj. L.T. Guthrie says Delp and Janney attempted to remove the tattoos, leaving the children with scars.

A juvenile and domestic relations judge certified the charge against Delp and Janney, sending the case to a grand jury. Edwards is scheduled to appear in court on May 12.
