RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A former Virginia pastor facing child sex charges in Texas has dropped plans to speak at a program later this month in Richmond.
Geronimo Aguilar tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1jFMtYp) that he won't participate in the Good Friday service at the Cedar Street Baptist Church of God.
A group called the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests had asked the church to remove Aguilar from the April 18 program or that other pastors not participate.
Aguilar was arrested last May after two women claimed he abused them in the 1990s. He resigned a month later from the Richmond Outreach Center.
